Hello, everyone. I’m Yuji Mishiro - I run my own company called “Jin-G”. I’m an HR Strategy consultant. I am also an associate professor at BBT University. I give lectures about project management.
I also teach at Waseda and Sophia Universities. The theme for my lectures is Global Leadership.
Now, let me go onto my past experiences.
After I graduated from Waseda University, I joined Fuji Bank, before it became Mizuho Bank. I was there for 2 and a half years. After that, I joined ManGlobe Inc. At ManGlobe, I became an HR consultant. After a year in ManGlobe, I went on to work in The Institute of Management System Inc (IMS). In this company, I got a lot of on-the-job training for HR consulting. It was very hard, but good experience. I stayed the longest for Bearing Point - now called PwC - I got a lot of media coverage while working in this company, as a “Star Consultant”.
Fuji Bank’s a very traditional, “Japanese” company. On the other hand, Bearing Point, or PwC, is an U.S. company. It was very different working for both companies. I learned a lot from working for those companies, and it was great experience from an HR consultant’s point of view.
It made me more open-minded, and now I can consult people in all kinds of different situations.
Fuji Bank and BearingPoint were big companies, whereas Manglobe and IMS were small companies. It was also very good for me to work in both of those environments.
I have changed jobs a lot of times, and generally, that’s not seen as a good thing. However, for the kind of work that I do now, I think it helped me a lot to see many different workplaces. Now, I think my career is very well balanced.
