Dr. Yusuke Tsuboko earned the Ph.D. degrees in Biomed. Eng. from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in 2016. From 2014 to 2016, he worked at the Dept. of Med. Eng. and Cardiol., PreClinical Research Center, Institute of Developing, Aging and Cancer, Tohoku University as a JSPS Research Fellow. From 2017 to 2018, he worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Medical Regulatory Science, Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. From 2019 to 2022, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Waseda Research Institute for Science and Engineering, Waseda University. He is currently working as a senior researcher at the Div. of Medical Devices, the Institute of Health Sciences, Kawasaki, Japan.
Dr. Tsuboko has been involved in numerous preclinical testing of implantable cardiovascular medical devices, particularly related to heart valve prostheses and ventricular assist devices. His main research interests are Regulatory Science for Medical Devices, Cardiovascular Engineering, Artificial Internal Organs, and Circulatory Simulations. His research aims to contribute the providing earlier access to innovative medical devices for patients by using engineering-based preclinical evaluation methodology.
