I was responsible for all legal matters such as contract law, company law, legal procedures, environmental issues, mergers & acquisitions, the company secretariat, the insurances of the group, social and labor law, etc... As from the 1st of August 1991 my responsibilities were extended to all personnel matters of the group of companies in Belgium.
This responsibility implied all human resources policies, labor relations, recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits and personnel administration. On the 1st of March 1993 I was appointed member of the management committee. Following a thorough modification of the organizational structure of the group worldwide, my reporting line changed from the Managing Director in Belgium to the Area Development Manager at Headquarters in Swindon UK. Following the takeover of the Group by BP, I was appointed to the position of Resources Manager Benelux, HR business partner for the Consumer Business Unit in the Benelux. Apart from daily operational HR management, I’m also responsible for projects on integration of both company cultures, synchronization of ways of working, processes and finally change management.
