Tomonosuke Katagiri (Tom), Director, is Head of the Aladdin Implementation team within BlackRock Solutions (BRS) in Japan. Mr. Katagiri is in charge of providing senior guidance on project management to transform clients’ business operations through implementing Aladdin/eFront.

In addition, together with Head of APAC BRS, Mr. Katagiri is responsible for building business strategies leveraging BlackRock’s digital technologies - especially, focusing on building new business opportunities to encourage/engage individuals (retail money) to transform their attitude/mindset to manage their assets based on their financial goals by leveraging BlackRock’s digital technology platforms, financial products and by partnering with local institutions and FinTech startups

Mr. Katagiri's service with BlackRock began in 2013 as an Analyst in the Aladdin Solutions Center (aka. Client Services) within BRS, where he was responsible for assisting Aladdin clients with daily business process support and service bureau requests. In 2015, Mr. Katagiri moved to Aladdin Client Engagement (Relationship Management) Group within BRS. He had been responsible for expanding BRS business and managing/enhancing relationship with clients in APAC through providing consultancy/advisory services, industrial/financial market thought leaderships, project management services and trainings to global asset managers/owners leveraging BlackRock's investment platform Aladdin and eFront - a technology platform that covers the full investment process across public and private assets.

Prior to joining BlackRock, in 2010, Mr. Katagiri started his career as a business analyst/IT consultant at Nomura Research Institute, where he was in charge of multiple back office system implementation projects for Japanese buy/sell-side firms expanding their international business. He was transferred to Hong Kong in 2012, at Nomura Research Institute Hong Kong, serving both front and back office IT projects for global sell-side firms.

Mr. Katagiri was born in Tokyo and spent 4 years in Cote d'Ivore during his elementary school days.
Mr. Katagiri earned a BS degree in engineering (Computer Science) from Waseda University in 2008, and an MS degree (Computer Science) in engineering from Waseda University in 2010.
